CHL Partners with Hoffen Foundation

Published on September 21, 2004 under Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

The Central Hockey League has today announced a partnership with the Hoffen Foundation, whose mission is to raise money to assist children with differing diseases, disabilities and socioeconomic challenges. The Hoffen Foundation (available online at www.hoffenfoundation.org) was established by CHL linesman and Arlington, Texas native Tim Zemens after his successful battle with cancer. Throughout the season, the CHL will initiate several hockey-related fundraising efforts in conjunction with the Hoffen Foundation, who will then distribute proceeds to specific charities within each CHL market as identified by member teams. "We are extremely excited to further our relationship with the Hoffen Foundation," said Brad Treliving, CHL President. "This will enable us to benefit charities across all CHL cities, and I encourage all member teams and our fans to support this most worthwhile cause."

Included in the efforts will be sports memorabilia auctions throughout the season. Currently available through the CHL's website (www.centralhockeyleague.com) are numerous unique items available for bid. Among the various available items are autographed pieces from Mario Lemieux, Mark Messier and Dan Marino. Additional auctions of both CHL and other sports memorabilia are planned for later in the season.

"The Hoffen Foundation is extremely excited with our partnership with the Central Hockey League," said Zemens. "We look forward to helping the CHL give back to League communities and feel our combined efforts will give both organizations the opportunities to contribute much more to bettering the lives of children. We are grateful for their support and look forward to continued growth from our relationship with the Central Hockey League."

The Central Hockey League is currently preparing for its 13th season of play this October, and once again led all North American professional "AA" leagues in average attendance during the 2003-2004 regular season, welcoming 4,501 fans per contest this past year. The Central Hockey League is operated by Global Entertainment Corporation through its WPHL, Inc. subsidiary. Global (OTCBB: GECO) is a diversified sports management, arena development and licensing company. Its subsidiary companies include: International Coliseums Company, a project manager for arena development and responsible for management agreements associated with arena facility operations; Global Entertainment Marketing Systems that pursues licensing and marketing opportunities related to the Company's sports management and arena developments and operations; Global Entertainment Ticketing (GetTix.net), an in-house ticketing company for sports and entertainment venues; and Cragar Industries, Inc., the licensor for CRAGAR, its nationally recognized, branded automotive wheels and products.
