
Bucks Sign Canadian Defenseman

LAREDO, Texas - On Tuesday the 2006 CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks announced the signing of defenseman Matt Simonson. Simonson played four seasons in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. He is the fifth player signed by the Bucks this off season. The Bucks are offering a family four pack of season tickets for $999 for the 2006-07 season. Simonson, 6'2" 215 pounds, is a native of Eel River Bar, New Brunswick. He scored ten goals and had 30 points for the Restigouche Tigers this past season. He helped the Tigers post a 31-20-2-3 regular season record.
"Matt has good size and moves the puck well," said Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski. "I am excited to see what he can do in the CHL. He is a tough kid with good potential."
Simonson totaled 17 goals and 45 points in his four years of junior hockey.
