LAREDO, Texas – The Laredo Bucks thrilled a season high crowd of 8,002 fans with a three goal third period to rally for a 4-2 come from behind victory over the Corpus Christi Rayz at the LEC in an 11 a.m. matinee game. Bucks captain Brent Cullaton scored a pair of goals and forward James Hiebert jammed in the game winner as the Bucks rebounded from a loss to the Rayz on Saturday. The Bucks are 21-4-1 and lead both the CHL and Southeast division with 43 points. Laredo has won 11 of their last 12 games. The Bucks host the Corpus Christi Rayz again at the LEC this Friday night. Fresh off a 2-0 shutout victory over the Bucks on Saturday the Rayz got going early on Tuesday morning. Corpus Christi forward Chris Page led a two-on-one down the right wing and slipped a pass across to forward Cosmo Dupaul who tipped it by Bucks goalie Marco Emond at 5:44. The Bucks answered with the number one ranked power play in the league when defenseman Serge Dube ripped a slap shot from the right point at 13:18. It was the sixth of the year for Dube. Late in the period Rayz captain Ken Richardson slammed in a rebound at 18:04 to give Corpus Christi the lead 2-1.

In the second period Laredo out shot the Rayz 9-2, but neither team was able to score.

Going to the third trailing by a goal the Bucks came out looking for the equalizer. Cullaton cut down the right wing into the Corpus zone and fired a shot from below the bottom of the right circle that banked off Rayz goalie Rob Garrick's leg and into the net to tie the game 2-2 at 12:57. A little over three minutes later the Bucks went on the power play. Forward Steve Simoes swooped down the right wing and in towards the net his shot was stopped, but Hiebert was there to swat the rebound home and send the crowd of more than 8,000 into a frenzy as the Bucks grabbed their first lead of the afternoon at 16:11. Late in the game the Rayz pulled Garrick for the extra attacker, but Cullaton scored his second of the game as he added an empty netter to finish the scoring. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, Corpus Christi 2.

Emond stopped 10 of 12 shots to improve to 11-2-1. Garrick played well, but allowed three goals on 31 shots and took his third straight loss to drop to 1-3-0. The Bucks went 2-5 on the man advantage, while the Rayz were 0-5.
