
Bucks Host Bees Thursday, Look To Extend Winning Streak

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will look to win their seventh straight game to start the season Thursday when they host division rival Rio Grande Valley at 7pm. Walk up ticket prices start as low as $12.75.

The Bucks look to continue their winning ways Thursday as they play the first of 13 regular season games against the Bees.
Laredo is setting record after record to start the season. In addition to their franchise-best 6-0 start, they also are 4-0 on the road, something they have never done before this season. Dustin Traylen is the third Bucks goaltender to start a season 4-0, joining Dov-Grumet-Morris in 2005-06, and Marco Emond in 2003-04. Thus far this season Traylen is 4-0 with two shutouts, a 1.48 goals against average, and a .941 save percentage.
The Bucks have been an offenseive juggernaut so far this season, outscoring their opponents 37-9 through the first six games. Laredo has seven players in the top 15 in the CHL in scoring. Leading the charge is reigning CHL player of the week Jeff Bes. Bes leads the CHL in scoring with five goals, nine assists, for 14 points. James Hiebert (7 goals, 3 assists), Chris Korchinski (4 goals, 6 assists), and Serge Dube(2 goals, 8 assists) are all tied for third in the league with 10 points. Rookie Brent MacSween is leading the league in power-play goals with five, and is 11th in points with six goals, and two assists, while Adam Rivet and Steve Simoes are tied for 15th in the league with seven points.
The Bees have three former Bucks on their roster who were members of the 2006 President's Cup Championship team. Goaltender David Lemanowicz, center Nick Warriner, and defenseman Mike Looby.
This season Lemanowicz is 2-0 in net, with a 2.00 goals against average, and a .956 save percentage. The Bees have not named a starting goaltender for Thursday.
Looby has scored two goals, with one assist, while Warriner has handed out two assists in four games for the Bees.
After Thursday's game the Bucks and Bees will meet Saturday night at the Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, with Laredo playing in Austin on Sunday afternoon.

*Defenseman Steve Weidlich, and Forward Jeff Genovy have been skating at Bucks practices in preparation for their return to the active roster.
