Thursday's pre-season tilt will give Bucks Head Coach and General Manager Terry Ruskowski his first real look at his team. The Bucks have 26 players in training camp, and Ruskowski must trim that number to 19 before October 16th, the day before the regular season begins.

"Not all the guys will play in the pre-season games", Ruskowski said. "Some of the older guys may play, but I'm really looking at the younger kids to see where they fit in here, and what they can do".

Ruskowski won't even participate in the game, as he will watch from the press area to evaluate the talent on his roster.

A spot that Ruskowski will look very closely at in the pre-season is his back-up goaltender position, a spot that Mike Collichio and Ryan Gibb are battling for.

Collichio and Gibb will split time in net for Thursday's game, as two-time All-Star netminder Sebastien Centomo will not play against the Bees.

The Killer Bees also have 26 players on their roster, as new Head Coach Chris Brooks makes his pre-season debut Thursday.

Rio comes into the first pre-season contest with 12 rookies listed on their roster, and only three players who suited up for them last season (Rob Voltera, Dan McNeil, and Travis Banga). Ryan Shymr is starting his second stint with the Killer Bees, a team he played from 2003-2006.

The Bucks and Bees will meet again Friday night at the Dodge Arena, before Laredo plays at Corpus Christi on Saturday night to round out the pre-season schedule.

Laredo and Rio Grande Valley will meet 13 times in the regular season, starting October 24th in Hidalgo.

The Bucks open the 2008-09 season at the LEC on October 17th against the Rocky Mountain Rage.

Season ticket prices stayed the same as they were last season, starting at just $34 a month (including playoffs). Call 718-BUCK (2825), or visit the LEC to speak to a Bucks ticket representative.

*Bucks Mini-Plans*

The Bucks have announced that they will offer mini-plan packages for the first time ever during the 2008-09 season.

Packages start at $60, and fans can choose from three different plans, the Special Event Package, the Weekend Package, or the Thirsty Thursday Package.

To order yours today call 718-BUCK (2825).
