Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks announced Wednesday that there will be a white out Friday night at the LEC for game six of the Central Hockey League's Southern Conference Finals. Bucks head coach/GM Terry Ruskowski, as well as the Bucks players are asking ALL FANS WHO COME TO THE GAME FRIDAY NIGHT TO WEAR WHITE IN SUPPORT OF THE BUCKS, who trail their best-of-seven series with the Arizona Sundogs three-games-to-two.

The family four pack will be available for just $48. The family four pack consists of four tickets for $48, with FOUR FREE HOT DOGS, AND FOUR FREE SODAS. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to order yours today. A Bucks win Friday forces a deciding game seven Saturday in Laredo, which will also be a white out.

"We are not only asking everyone to come out to the game, but to wear white also in a show of unity, and as a rally cry", said Bucks head coach/GM Terry Ruskowski. "Myself, as well as all of our players ask that fans come out and be loud, and join in the white out!"

The Bucks will be wearing their home white jersey's this weekend, and the Bucks staff will wear white as well to rally behind the Gateway City's two-time CHL Champions.

After splitting the first two games of the series at home, the Bucks took the series lead with a 4-3 overtime win in game three, only to lose the next two games to fall behind and have their backs against the wall. Laredo fell in games four and five 4-3, and 2-1, with the Sundogs scoring the winning goal in the third period of both games. All five games that Laredo and Arizona played at Tim's Toyota Center this season were decided by one goal each, with Laredo going 3-2 in those games (1-2 in the playoffs).

"We need a packed house with people wearing white this weekend at the LEC", said Bucks head coach/GM Terry Ruskowski. "We play so much better when our fans pack the arena, it really helps us tremendously. Our players feed off of a big home crowd here in Laredo".

The last time the Bucks faced elimination at home was game five of the 2005 President's Cup Finals against Colorado. Laredo came into that game trailing the series three games-to-one, and lost game five 1-0 to end their season on home ice.

The Bucks have faced elimination on their home ice six times before, going 4-2 in those games. Laredo was knocked out of the playoffs at the LEC twice before, in the 2003 Conference Finals against Austin, and in the 2005 Finals against Colorado.

Laredo is going to advance to their fifth straight President's Cup Finals they have to win both games six and seven on their home ice this weekend, something they have done before. In the 2004 President's Cup Finals Laredo trailed the series three-games-to-two, before winning game six and seven in front of a sold-out 8,002 fans at the LEC. Laredo took game six 5-1, and then won game seven in overtime 3-2 to win their first ever CHL Championship.

In games four and five in Arizona, the Bucks were beaten in net by Rob McVicar. McVicar won both games for the Sundogs, and stopped a combined 66 of 70 Laredo shots. Tyler Redenbach has picked up right where he left off for the Sundogs. Redenback joined the team for this series with the Bucks, and has handed out eight assists in the five games. Two of Redenbach's assists were on game-winning goals for Arizona.

A problem for the Bucks this series has been penalty trouble. Through the first five games of the match-up with Arizona, Laredo has taken 119 minutes in penalties, while the Sundogs have taken just 85. The Bucks penalty kill has performed well, as the Sundogs have scored four power-play goals in 39 chances.

John Ceci has performed well in net for Laredo this series, stopping a combined 90 shots in his three starts, and putting up a .938 save percentage, while allowing just 1.99 goals per game.

If the Bucks win Friday night, game seven is on tap for Saturday at the LEC, with the winner advancing to the President's Cup Finals. The family four pack will be available for just $48. The family four pack consists of four tickets for $48, with FOUR FREE HOT DOGS, AND FOUR FREE SODAS. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to order yours today. A Bucks win Friday forces a deciding game seven Saturday in Laredo, with a white out taking place again at the LEC.
