
Bucks Fall To Rage In OT 3-2

BROOMFIELD, CO- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Rocky Mountain Rage 3-2 in overtime Sunday afternoon at the Broomfield Event Center. The Bucks earn a point for the second straight night, putting them at 18-8-3 (39pts). Laredo has a two-point lead over the Texas Brahmas in the Southeast Division. The Bucks finish their four-game road trip at 0-2-2.
David Morelli scored the game-winner for the Rage just 1:40 into overtime, as he scored off of a rebound from the right circle past Sebastien Centomo.
Seven of the Bucks last eight games have been decided by one goal, with Laredo going 2-2-3 in that span.
The Bucks trailed 2-1 entering the third period, but tied it up on the power-play 2-2 just 4:47 in when Erick Lizon jammed in a rebound from the right slot past Scott Reid. The goal was Lizon's second in three games.
The Bucks (5-5-3 on the road) and Rage played to a scoreless first period, as neither team could light the lamp. Laredo outshot Rocky Mountain 8-5 in the first 20 minutes.
Rocky Mountain would jump out in front just 3:59 into the second, when Scott Wray sent shot off the rebound from the left circle past Sebastien Centomo. The goal was Wray's ninth of the season.
Laredo would tie the game up at 1-1 with 6:59 left in the second, when Matt Miller sent a back-handed rebound from the crease past Scott Reid. The strike was Miller's first of the season, and as a Buck, with Bobby Russell (16) and Ryan Salvis (3) picking up assists.
The Rage would re-take the lead as they knocked in a goal on the power-play, with 2:03 left in the second. Colt King took a long rebound at the high slot, and ripped shot past Centomo. The tally was King's 10th of the campaign.
Laredo was outshot in the second period 18-9.
The Bucks are 0-3-3 in their last six road games, and have not won on the road since December 6th at the Texas Brahmas.
Bucks Captain Serge Dube was a healthy scratch Sunday.
