Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announce that they will be having 10 special "Event Night" games to be held at the LEC this season starting with the October 27th game against Amarillo.

"Our 10 event night games will be games that fans are not going to want to miss, the entertainment is bigger and better, as are the chances to win very nice, expensive prizes", said Bucks president John Beckelhymer. "We will have very high quality entertainment during intermissions, whether it be music stars, or artists, to raise the level of excitement in the building, and continue to give our fans a great experience" Beckelhymer said.

With the LEC's capacity lowered to 6,500 for this season, two of the event nights are already sold out, the October 27th game against the Gorillas, which will help benefit the four local Rotary International clubs, and the March 8th game against Bossier-Shreveport, which will help benefit the Women's City Club. Fans can still buy tickets to these games from either the clubs themselves, or the box office, and proceeds will go to benefit those organizations.

During some of the 10 event nights the Bucks will be giving away $5,000 prizes. "Fans will have to register to win those prizes at some of our sponsors locations, then come to the game for a chance to win. Someone will be guaranteed to win prizes on those nights" Said Beckelhymer. The Bucks will announce the prizes and sign-up locations in the coming weeks. The Bucks are also making parts of the LEC more of a family atmosphere, adding a family section right behind the net, where a family can purchase season tickets for $199 each. In the family section there will no alcohol, no cursing, and it will be monitored, so families can enjoy the game together.

"The family section is our lowest season ticket price ever", said Beckelhymer, "not only is it our lowest price ever, it's the lowest in the entire CHL". "We want families with children to be able to come to the LEC and enjoy themselves, in a fun, family atmosphere. That's what the family section will provide."

The Bucks are also introducing a "Perfect Attendance Prize" for season ticket holders. If a season ticket holders seats are used at every home game, then they will be entered to win an extrordinary prize. There will be two perfect attendance prize periods. The first will take place during the first half of the season starting with the October 26th home opener to December 22nd, with the first perfect atttendance prize drawing on New Year's Eve. The second period will take place during the second half of the season, from December 31st-to the March 8th home game, with the drawing to be held the night of the regular season finale March 21st. If a season ticket holders tickets are used at every home game during those periods then they are entered in the drawing.

"This is a great way to reward our season ticket holders for using their tickets every game", Beckelhymer said, "even if our season ticket holders don't go to every game themselves, if they give their tickets to someone else to use they are still entered for the perfect attendance prizes. And if they don't win the first half prize, they can try to win the second half prize."

Other new additions to tickets plans this year are the "Coach's Club" season tickets, which is any level of season tickets for 32 regular season games, and also includes 12 playoff games, starting as low as $34 a month for a 10-month pay period.

The Bucks are also giving fans buying group tickets additional benefits this season. Each group that comes to the LEC will have an opportunity to experience a certain event on a first-come, first serve basis. A few examples are, if your group buys 40 tickets the group gets to sit on the Bucks bench during warm-ups, if your group buys 50 tickets a member of the group gets to sing the national anthem, and if your group buys 50 tickets the group gets to drop the first puck, plus many more.

"In addition to getting group pricing discounts our fans will get to be a part of the action, and be involved", Beckelhymer said. "They can experience something special that they won't soon forget".

The LEC and the Bucks announce that there will no longer be a parking fee at the arena.
