Bucks Add Infielder to 2014 Roster

Waterloo, Iowa - The Waterloo Bucks have announced that infielder Luke Stratman has signed to play with Waterloo for the 2014 season. Stratman, a freshman at Washington State University, is the 21st player to be named to the Bucks' roster for the team's 20th season.

This season for the Cougars, Stratman has seen action in nine games, starting four. The 6'0", 185-pounder is hitting .143 with one RBI and one stolen base. Stratman is holding a .235 on-base percentage and has scored one run.

"I'm very excited for the opportunity to play for the Bucks this summer," said Stratman. "I have only heard great things about the organization."

"Luke is a middle infielder that is going to counted on to do big things at Washington State in the next few years," said Bucks field manager Travis Kiewiet. "He's behind a three year starter at shortstop this year so he'll have to wait his turn, but has seen some action at second base. Luke possesses very good speed and we look for him to help us continue our aggressiveness on the bases this summer."

A native of Morrison, Colorado, Stratman was a four-year letterwinner in both baseball and basketball at D'Evelyn High School. Stratman set the Colorado prep basketball career record for 3-pointers. On the baseball field, Stratman was an All-Conference selection. Luke is the son of Keith and Holly Stratman.

The Bucks will open the 2014 season on the road versus the Rochester Honkers on May 27, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus Rochester on May 28.
