Bruins win over Bobcats

Austin Bruins News Release


The Austin Bruins finished their home series against the Bismarck Bobcats. The Bruins battled a full 20 minutes in the first frame throwing 12 pucks on net. At the first intermission the game was scoreless. The Bruins took a 1-0 lead courtesy of Austin Nelson assisting was CJ Smith. The Bobcats answered back on the power play tying the game at one 1-1. A couple of big fights gave the Bruins the momentum Mike Bond took out Jeremy O'Keefe. At the end of two periods the Bruins were tied with the Bobcats 1-1. The final frame the Bruins killed off a 5-3 and continued to give the hometown crowd a reason to cheer. Jeremy Finger set up Brandon Wahlin on the power play making it a 2-1 Bruins lead. The Bobcats tied it up at 2-2 on the power play. The game went to overtime, Chris Fischer had the game winner for the Austin Bruins assisting was John Simonson and Christian Folin.
