The Austin Bruins kicked off their first playoff game against the Alexandria Blizzard this Friday Night. The Black and Yellow took an early lead as Brandon Wahlin and Jake Flynn set up Jeremy Finger and the Bruins led 1-0. The Blizzard answered back with their second power play of the night to make it a 1-1 battle. The second frame from the Runestone Community Center was huge as Tyler Bruggeman continued to resemble a brick wall turning aside 30 shots through two frames. The Bruins took the lead with a Chris Fischer goal assisting was Jake Flynn. The Bruins made it a 3-1 score courtesy of Colton the Kid Kramer. At the end of two periods of play Austin had a 3-1 lead. The third period the Blizzard cut the lead in half. The Bruins John Kirby put the icing on the cake as the Bruins would go on to win 4-2. Tyler Bruggeman had 38 saves in the victory. Austin leads the five game series 1-0. Austin will play game 2 tomorrow night at the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria Minnesota.
