Hormel Hometown Hero Presentation & Post Game Skate The Bruins and Hormel Foods will once again honor a member of the Austin community who dedicates their life to helping others. This will be fourth Hometown Hero honored by the Bruins and Hormel Foods this season. The hero will be honored on the ice during the first intermission and will receive a custom Bruins/Hormel jersey with "Hero" as the name. In addition, Austin hosts another post game skate where fans can get on the ice with the Bruins. All fans are welcome to take the ice, including adults, but must bring their own skates.
Saturday, March 14th vs Minot Minotauros
Pacelli Night The Bruins will be hosting their annual Pacelli Night on March 14th . Fans have the chance to purchase a ticket and t-shirt package from now until the even. During the game, Bruiser will be sporting a custom Pacelli-themed Bruins jersey which will be available during a post game auction. A portion of the ticket packages and the jersey auction will be donated back to Pacelli Schools.
TEAM NEWS: Last week Josef Mysak was named the NAHL Bauer Defenseman of the Month for February. Mysak's 10 points in 9 games was the best stretch of the season for the Niagara University commit.
LAST GAMES REVIEW: Austin completed the sweep this past weekend over the Chippewa Steel. On Friday, the Kyle Oleksiuk scored two goals including the thrilling game-winner in overtime. Saturday night was much closer with the Bruins fighting off several Steel comeback attempts. Ultimately, the Bruins took Saturday night's game as well, 4-3.
Oleksiuk (2G, 1A) and Pietila (3A) led the Bruins in scoring on the weekend while Brett Miller earned both wins in goal.
UPCOMING GAMES PREVIEW: Up next for the Bruins is the Minot Minotauros, the team immediately behind the Bruins in the standings. This weekend's games have HUGE implications for not only making the playoffs, but also playoff seeding. With nine games left, the Bruins magic number is 10 standings points to clinch a playoff spot. Here are the current standings of the NAHL Central Division. Minot comes to Austin having swept the St. Cloud Blizzard in a pair of games last weekend. The Bruins and 'Tauros have split the season series so far in 2019-20, the Bruins with a record of 4-3-0-1 and Minot with a record of 4-2-0-2.
