Bruins Maul Cougars

CHILLIWACK, B.C. - The Chilliwack Bruins jumped out to an early lead over the Prince George Cougars and coasted to a 6-3 victory, their fourth consecutive.

Evan Pighin had the Gordie Howe hat trick, scoring twice while adding one assist and a fight in the victory. The Bruins also had goals from Mark Santorelli, Cody Smuk, Nick Holden and newest Bruin Chris Van Duynhoven in the win. The Cougars had goals tonight by Ty Wishart, Morgan MacLean and Parker Stanfield.

This game also saw action by all four goaltenders. Mark Friesen earns the victory, even though he sustained an undisclosed injury after the Wishart goal. Matt Esposito mopped up for the Bruins. Tommy Tartaglione started the game for the Cougars, but was pulled after allowing three goals in the first period. Backup Real Cyr finished the game for the Cougars.

The Bruins get some much needed rest and do not play again until Saturday night, when they face off against the defending WHL Champions, The Medicine Hat Tigers...game time will be at 7 pm.
