The Manitoba AAA Midget League is pleased to announce that Brendan Walker of the Eastman Selects, is the recipient of the Chicken Chef Offensive Player of the Week Award, in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.
In Eastmans 2 games this weekend, Brendan scored 6 goals and added 3 assists for 9 points. Brendan is a 15 year old, first year player in our league and has excellent offensive skills. He continues to improve at his position as he gets used to the speed of the game at this level.
A former 12th round draft choice (259th overall) of the Brandon Wheat Kings in last spring's Western Hockey League bantam draft, Walker enters weekend play with sixteen goals and 27 points in nineteen games.
Speaking of the Wheat Kings, the Eastern Division leaders return to the friendly confines of Westman Place this Friday night for the opening game of a 3-game home stand against the visiting Saskatoon Blades. Brandon enters the game riding a 6-game winning streak and coming off Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Pats in Regina.
