Bruins Hold off Johnstown in Overtime

The Austin Bruins continued play on day three of the North American Hockey League showcase. The Bruins battled the Johnstown Tomahawks. The opening period Johnstown started the scoring on the power play. The Bruins only had 3 shots in the first period while Bruins goaltender Jason Pawloski stopped 8. At the first intermission Johnstown led the Bruins 1-0. The second period Austin tied the score at one, with a goal from Devin Mitchell assisting was Nate Mondrey as the two rookies found the score sheet for the first time in the North American League. The Bruins took the lead with a power play goal from Jake Flynn assisting was AJ Reid and Brandon Wahlin. Austin continued to get scoring chances on Chris Truehl throughout the period. Johnstown was able to answer back on an odd man rush making it a 2-2 score after two. The final period Johnstown regained the lead on a two man advantage. The Bruins were able to gain some momentum and tie it up at three With a power play goal from Riley Colvard, assisting was CJ Smith and Brandon Wahlin. With the score tied at three CJ Smith was set up Colton Kramer with just 38 seconds left. Johnstown pulled Chris Truehl and was able to score with just seven seconds left. The game went to overtime where Riley Colvard scored his second goal of the night assisting was Josh Bretner. Jason Pawloski was credited with his first win of his NAHL career. The Bruins will battle the Janesville Jets tomorrow evening at 7:00, for live play by play log onto Fast Hockey.com.
