
Bruins Hire Pat Conacher

Chilliwack Bruins General Manager and Head Coach Marc Habscheid announced today that the Bruins have hired Pat Conacher as Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach.
"We are very pleased to welcome Pat to the Bruins," said Habscheid. "Pat has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and adding him to our hockey staff will be very beneficial to our club."
Conacher brings a great deal of hockey experience both as a player and coach to the Bruins. As a player, Conacher appeared in more than 500 NHL games and was a member of the 1984 Stanley Cup Champion Edmonton Oilers. Conacher's coaching experience includes three seasons as an assistant coach with the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes and two seasons as a head coach in the American Hockey League. Conacher also spent time as a pro scout with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"I'm thrilled to be back in the Western Hockey League," said Conacher who played three WHL seasons with the Billings Bighorns and Saskatoon Blades. "I've known Marc for a long time and it's nice to be involved with him again." Conacher was a member of Habscheid's coaching staff with the Kelowna Rockets during the 1999-00 season and the two were both members of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers during the 1983-84 and 1984-85 seasons.
