Martha's Vineyard Sharks News Release
Vineyard Haven, MA - The Martha's Vineyard Sharks announced Friday that the Futures Collegiate Baseball League team has signed Brown University's pitcher Christopher "Hubby" Hubbard for the inaugural 2011 season.
According to Brown University's Assistant Coach Mike O'Malley "Hubby is seeing a lot of time as our "lefty" specialist, primarily conference relieving roles and a guy to go to in an important situation." O'Malley went on to say that "Hubby is a crafty lefty and he fills up the strike zone while inducing contact to make guys get themselves out." The Coach noted that Hubbard is coming off an arm injury that did not allow him to pitch this past summer and fall, but is acclimating himself well in Providence. He also stated that "Hubbard is a great competitor and a bulldog on the mound and is the type of guy that you want to have out there in an jam."
