Spokane Shock News Release

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that WR/DL Anthony Brown has been added to the 2008 roster. Brown had signed an AFL contract with the Utah Blaze in early November and was released during their final cuts of training camp.

The Shock also announced the retirement of DL Jerome Stevens, a two-year veteran and member of the 2006 ArenaCup Championship Shock team. Most recently, Stevens signed a contract with the AFL's Kansas City Brigade.

Brown, 6' 6" 230, joined the Shock mid-way through the 2007 season and was a double threat on both defense and offense. Offensively as a WR, Brown totaled 22 receptions and three touchdowns while contributing 9 tackles as a defensive end.

"This year we will be focusing on the offensive side of the ball with Anthony Brown," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "His versatility in the arena game makes him a tremendous prospect at the next level. Anthony Brown has great hands, and a large frame that make him a reliable receiver."

The opening day of Training Camp will begin on March 8. In addition, the Shock will host an exhibition game in Yakima on March 20th against the Amarillo Dusters. Tickets can be purchased from TicketsWest.
