Brown Bears Stopped in Their Tracks

September 28, 2007 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
North Iowa Outlaws News Release

A week after the ice was put down at the North Iowa Ice Arena, the North Iowa Outlaws showed the fans what they could do, stopping the Brown Bears from Kenai River in their tracks. The Outlaws were led by Shea Walters and Bryant Skarda in goals with two a piece but Tyler Romasco who assisted on four of the six tallies in a 6-1 victory. Robby Moss was equally impressive in net, stopping 31 of 32 shots in the victory.

North Iowa brought the crowd to their feet with a early goal nine minutes into the game when Shea Walters struck for one of his two tallies on the night. Minutes later Bryant Skarda got his first of the game, striking on the power play to put North Iowa up 2-0 at the end of the first.

Much of the same in the second as North Iowa's Ross Ring-Jarvi scored in the second minute of the period to make it 3-0 as the Outlaws continued to charge. Midway through the period, Krystian Dzuibinski fired home a shot to give North Iowa a commanding 4-0 lead. Minutes later it was 5-0 as Skarda tallied his second of the night, and Moss continued to pitch the shutout. Kenai however erased the zero on the board, scoring in the final two minutes of the second period to make it 5-1.

The Outlaws responded in the third, finishing off the Brown Bears with his second score of the night to finish off the scoring as North Iowa pounded to a 6-1 victory. North Iowa moved closer to the Springfield Jr. Blues in the standings as the host the Brown Bears in the weekend finale Saturday at 7:30 PM at the North Iowa Ice Arena.
