April 27, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Brooklyn Comets News Release
Brooklyn, NY. The ABA Brooklyn Wonders are seeking a Head Coach for their upcoming inaugural season to begin in November. The candidate should have the following:
* Prior minor league, pro or college coaching experience preferred
* Ability to develop and motivate players
* Professional demeanor and attitude
* Brooklyn resident is a plus (but not required)
Besides the traditional roles of a head coach, the candidate will be required to attend tryout camps, Veteran training camp, and several community appearances and team functions. The head coach will work closely with the General Manager and Assistant Coaches to achieve success.
The Brooklyn Wonders strive to be the premier team in the ABA and need a coach that can achieve these goals for the Brooklyn Wonders right out of the gate. Brooklyn, being one of the largest cities in the U.S., will have tremendous exposure, and the head coach must be able to take this exposure and mold it into a positive experience for the team and community.
Candidates should send their resume to reford@brooklynwonders.com. No phone calls please. For more team information, visit www.brooklynwonders.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
