Brooklyn Drops Fourth Straight

BROOKLYN, New York - The Brooklyn Aviators dropped their fourth straight game to kick off the New Year as they fell to the New Jersey Outlaws 7-3 on home ice in Federal Hockey League action.

Nathan Oke and Lawne Snyder each had three points on the contest to help pace the Outlaws offense in the victory.

New Jersey erupted for the game's first four goals, with two coming on the power play, to take a commanding 4-1 lead after the first period of play. Oke opened the scoring 2:06 into the opening frame, and then 48-seconds later newcomer Trevor Karasiewicz found the back of the net to give New Jersey a 2-0 edge. Kevin Cooper and John Goffredo tallied for the Outlaws - making it four straight markers - before Lucas Schott scored on the man advantage for Brooklyn with 2:29 left in the first.

Matt Miller netted the only goal in the second frame at the 18:10 mark on his own rebound from Snyder and Karasiewicz giving New Jersey a 5-1 lead.

Brooklyn scored two goals in a span of 39-seconds to kick start the third period, which cut the deficit to 5-3, off tallies from Chase Watson and Nick Petriello. New Jersey though, netted two their own, one early and one later, to seal the 7-3 victory.

Aviators' netminder Jo St. Pierre is charged with the loss despite turning aside 26 shots, while Outlaws' goalie Adam Dekker picks up his 12th win making 21 saves.

The Brooklyn Aviators return to action Saturday night when they take on the Outlaws at Capital One Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and can viewed live via the Outlaws broadcast network, powered by LiveSportsVideo.com
