The Brooklyn Aviators open up the 2011-12 season in Lewiston, ME against the defending FHL champs, the Akwesasne Warriors. These two clubs met in the finals last year, with Akwesasne winning the series 3-1. During the regular season, the Aviators had a 2-3-1 mark against Akwesasne. Brooklyn won the final regular season match-up, 6-4, on home ice.

Brooklyn Aviators (32-13-2, 66 points/1st/2010-11) - The then New York Aviators put themselves on the minor league hockey map with their FHL record, 21-game winning streak last year. The club would eventually go on to win the FHL regular season title with a first place record of 32-13-2, good enough for 66 points and a .702 winning percentage. The Aviators were an impressive 22-1-1 on home ice this past season.

Akwesasne Warriors - (30-16-1, 61 points/2nd/2010-11) - The Akwesasne Warriors captured the 2010-11 FHL championship over the Aviators in four games (3-1). Akwesasne lead the entire FHL last year with 228 goals for during the regular season, paced by former NHL forward, Pierre Dagenais (26g). The Warriors had three winning streaks of five or more games throughout the 2010-11 campaign, en route to their 2010-11 FHL title.

The Brooklyn Aviators open up the 2011-12 season at the Aviator Sports and Events Center on October 29th against the New Jersey Outlaws at 7:05 P.M.
