November 20, 2008 - Eastern Professional Hockey League (EPHL)
Brooklyn Aces News Release

Former New York Rangers forward Nick Fotiu will join the Brooklyn Aces this Friday, November 21st at 7:30 pm when the Aces take on the Jersey Rockhoppers. Fotiu will serve as an Assistant Coach for that night's game, drop the game's ceremonial first puck, and also be available for autographs and pictures after the game.

Fotiu is a Staten Island native that attended New Dorp High School and played junior hockey for the New Hyde Park Arrows of the NYJHL. He was the first New York City born player to don a New York Rangers uniform. Nick played with the Rangers from 1976-1979 and from 1980-1985. As a player Fotiu was known for his endless hustle and bone-shattering checks. His playing career ended in 1990, after which he went on to coach in the ECHL for the Nashville Knights and Johnstown Chiefs and in the AHL for the Kentucky Throughblades and the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Aces President and C.E.O. Alan Friedman said, "I remember taking the double L train to the Garden to see Nick play. I still have one of the pucks he threw into the stands. This is a great day for the Brooklyn Aces and the EPHL."
