Aces Cruise Past Bears 9-1

March 8, 2009 - Eastern Professional Hockey League (EPHL)
Brooklyn Aces News Release

Sunday evening at the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh, NY, the Aces moved two points closer to clinching the EPHL's regular season title, beating the Hudson Valley Bears 9-1. With the win tonight, Brooklyn remains ten points ahead of the second place Jersey Rockhoppers with 7 games remaining. Brooklyn needs three points (or one point and one Jersey loss) to secure the regular season crown. On Sunday, the Aces were led by Tony Resendes' hat trick. Resendes scored twice in the first period and once more in the third to register the first three goal performance of the season. CJ Tozzo did his part by notching five assists and one goal, for an impressive six point game. All in all, twelve Aces scored a point in this game, six of whom had multiple points.

Miro Recicar stopped 31-of-32 Hudson Valley shot attempts to register his 15th win of the season.

Brooklyn is at home on Friday March 13th against the Jersey Rockhoppers at the Aviator Arena in Brooklyn at 7:30pm.
