
Aces Present Exciting Exhibition Games

Today at the Aviator Sports Complex on Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York, the Brooklyn Aces announced a celebrity exhibition hockey game featuring members of The Howard Stern Show & Howard TV On Demand, along with the Brooklyn Aces & Jersey Rockhoppers of the Eastern Professional Hockey League (EPHL). The game will take place in Brooklyn, at the Aviator Sports Complex on Saturday, March 21st in between the first & second periods of the regular season game between the Aces & Rockhoppers, game time is set for 7:30pm.
Brooklyn Aces team owner, Alan Friedman has pledged a sizeable donation to a charity of the winning team's choice. Friedman stated, "I've been a fan of the show since the early 80's. Having the Howard Stern Show crew wear the Aces crest & sweater will be the highlight of our season."
The contest will be a ten minute running time game and will pit Team Howard Stern Show featuring show staff against Team Howard TV On Demand. Each team will have three members of the actual Aces & Rockhoppers competing with their squads. Aces Coach Chris Firriolo & Rockhoppers coach Brian Gratz will also participate in the game and run each team's strategy from the bench. Gratz commented, "I'm really excited, it will be great for the league, and I'm a long time fan of the show."
Rosters for the squad are still being finalized, but the preliminary lineups include show personalities and staffer from the Howard Stern Show and Howard TV On Demand. Howard TV cameras will capture the action and a special program about the event will air on the cable service later this year.
In addition to the Howard Stern Show exhibition game, prior to the Aces 7:30pm game, there will be a hockey exhibition game between the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) and the Boston Fire Department. The puck drops for the Fire Department game at 5:30pm. One ticket is good for admission to all three games.
Also, joining the Aces lineup that night is former New York Ranger and 12 year NHL veteran Ron Duguay. Duguay will be skating as a member of the Brooklyn Aces team in the actual EPHL game. With Duguay's appearance he will become the 2nd oldest professional hockey player of all-time at 51 years old, trailing only Gordie Howe who played one shift at age 69 for the Detroit Vipers of the IHL.
Ron is the second former New York Rangers player to appear for the Brooklyn Aces organization this season, as earlier in the year, former Ranger and New York native, Nick Fotiu served as an Assistant Coach for one game.
The EPHL is completing its inaugural 50 game season. The league consists of four teams, the Brooklyn Aces, the Jersey Rockhoppers, Danbury Madhatters, and Hudson Valley Bears. The opening game of the playoffs, is set for Thursday, March 26th in Brooklyn in a best of three series.
