Brodzinski Named to the 2012-13 USHL All-Rookie Team

MUSKEGON, Michigan - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud to announce that Defenseman Michael Brodzinski has been honored as one of eight players named to the 2012-13 USHL All-Rookie Team.

Brodzinski, the Blaine, Minnesota native, totaled 34 points (16 goals and 18 assists) to go along with a plus-11 rating in 65 games combined between the regular season and playoffs with the Lumberjacks this past season. The 16 goals he tallied during the regular season led all USHL defensemen with nine of them coming on the power play. The nine power play goals ranked him second among all league defensemen.

This past season, Brodzinski's 33 points totaled during the regular season ranked him third on the team, and he accounted for almost 31 percent (30.6) of the Lumberjacks' scoring done by defensemen. The blue liner was also named as the USHL's "Defenseman of the Week" twice this past season during the weeks of November 19th and March 11th.

Brodzinski was also one of four Lumberjacks selected to compete in the 2012 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Muskegon this past January, and has a commitment to play his hockey collegiately for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers out of the newly-formed Big Ten Conference.

Season ticket packages for the 2013-14 season are still on sale for the low price of $225 for adults and $150 for children ages 3-12 for the 30 home games provided next season.
