Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB. -- The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that thanks to two local business partners, fans attending Tuesday's Western Hockey League playoff home game at Westman Place won't be coming empty handed.
The Wheat Kings, in association withWestside Plumbing and Heating and880 CKLQ - the "play by play voice of the Wheat Kings" -Special Playoff Edition Hand Clapper Noisemakers will be distributed at the east, west and south main entrances to the arena. Fans are encouraged to come early and help welcome home the Wheat Kings, who will be playing their first game in Brandon in close to a month.
Brandon trails the best of seven WHL Eastern Conference Semi-Final two games to nothing after the Edmonton Oil Kings scored back to back one-goal victories at Rexall Place this weekend.
Game four of the series is scheduled for Wednesday, before the series will shift back to Edmonton (if necessary) for game five on Friday night.
Tickets to both of this week's playoff home games go back on sale first thing Monday morning at the Keystone Centre box office. Fans can also order online at ticketmaster.ca or by calling 726-3555.
Tuesday's game will be Brandons first home game since March 17th. Due to the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair occupying the Keystone Centre during the final week of the March, the Wheat Kings were forced to play all three of their first round home games at MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
The Wheat Kings finished the regular season by compiling an 8-1-0-2 record during their final eleven regular season games played in Brandon. Brandon hasn't hosted a post season game since the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup.
