Long Island Ducks News Release

(Central Islip, N.Y., Jan. 24, 2011) - The Long Island Ducks are currently seeking community members that are interested in becoming host families for a Ducks player during the 2011 baseball season.

Hosting a player gives you the rare opportunity to get involved with the Long Island Ducks on a personal level, as one of the players will often become an "adopted member of your family" during his time on Long Island, staying in touch with their host families for years to come. Year in and year out, hosting a player has been a positive experience for everyone involved.

You might wonder...what are the requirements for becoming a host family We make it simple. If you can provide a private bedroom, use of a bathroom, washer/dryer and kitchen for a Long Island Duck, you can be a host. Any other amenities that you are willing and able to provide will be greatly appreciated by your player.

For information about the Long Island Ducks Housing Program, please call Gerry at 631-940-3825, ext. 114, or Chris, ext. 117. Interested families can also send an email to ganderson@liducks.com or cgee@liducks.com

The Long Island Ducks are entering their 12th season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Opening Day is May 6. For further information, please visit www.liducks.com or call (631) 940-3825.
