Brian Curran Signs Two-Year Contract Extension

Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards announced today that General Manager and Head Coach Brian Curran has signed a two-year contract extension. Curran recently completed his first season with the organization. "The Colonel" led the team to a 41-27-8 mark and was named the 2005-06 UHL Coach of the Year.

During his six-year coaching career, Curran has compiled a 217-164-36 record. On three occasions, he has been named Coach of the Year in his league. The 2005-06 UHL honor was preceded by the 2002-03 Atlantic Coast Hockey League Coach of the Year and 1999-2000 Western Professional Hockey League Coach of the Year.

"Brian is a tremendous asset to our organization," said Mallards President Tim Taylor. "He did a fantastic job with our 2005-06 team, and we trust that he'll be able to do the same in future years. We know that we have a championship caliber coach, and we're committed to giving him a championship level team."

"I am thrilled to be returning to the Quad Cities," said Curran. "I'm very proud of what the team accomplished last year especially over the last two months of the regular season and into the playoffs. My expectations for next year's team are very high. I fully expected to compete for and win the Colonial Cup."
