Brewers Nominated for Best Short Season Team

October 25, 2010 - Pioneer League (PL)
Helena Brewers News Release

The Helena Brewers have been nominated for a MiLBY, an award given out by Minor League Baseball. Our historic championship run has placed us in the category for Best Short Season Team. Defeating Great Falls and Ogden, both division winners, to capture the Pioneer League Championship made us an obvious choice for the nomination.

The Brewers are up against tough competition for the MiLBY. The Brooklyn Cyclones had the best record of all short season teams, but were upset by the Tri-CityValleyCats in the New York-Penn League Championship. The Johnson City Cardinals won their first Appalachian League title in 34 years. In the Northwest League, the Everett AquaSox won their first Championship since 1986. As most of you already know, the Brewers 2010 campaign was exciting from opening day to the final championship game. With many close wins and extra inning heroics, our Brewers are the sure winner in this category.
