
Corey Dickerson Wins Best Hitter Award

Corey Dickerson, the Colorado Rockies 8th pick in the 2010 Amateur Draft has won the MILBY Best Hitter for Short Season A leagues award for 2010. The awards are done each season on milb.com. Fans voted online for one of the six finalists in each category ranging from Short Season A to Triple A. Dickerson won with a staggering 37% of the vote. The Brooklyn Cyclones Cory Vaughn came in second with 25% of the vote.
Dickerson, a Mississippi native, hit .348 with 13 HR's and 61 RBI's for the season. He was also selected as a first team All-Star for the Pioneer League. Dickerson played junior college baseball at Meridian Community College.
