Missoula PaddleHeads News Release

BILLINGS, MT - Bobby Stone drove in a pair of runs with singles, while Charles Brewer pitched seven solid innings to give the Missoula Osprey a 3-1 win over the Billings Mustangs in front of 2,307 fans at Dehler Park on Sunday.

Down 1-0 after five innings of play, Stone singled with the based loaded in the sixth to tie the game, and, after David Nick had delivered a RBI double to snap the tie, scored his teammate with a two-out single to push the Missoula lead to 3-1.

Brewer (7-1), meanwhile, allowed just two hits and an unearned run, while striking out six batters to pick up the win. Brewer takes the lead in the Pioneer League in wins with the triumph.

With the win, the Osprey (13-13, 34-30) maintain their one-game lead over Great Falls, and extend their lead to 5 ½ games over both Helena and Billings, in the Pioneer League's North Division.

Stone, Bobby Borchering and Ender Inciarte each had a single and a double for the Osprey, who managed to get the win despite collecting just seven hits.

The Osprey will wrap up their four-game series with the Mustangs at Dehler Park on Monday. Right-hander Chase Anderson will get the start for the Osprey, while the Mustangs will start left-hander Luca Panerati.

The Osprey will play their final six games at home in their final homestand, which will begin on Friday, September 4. Tickets for any remaining Osprey home game this season can be obtained by calling the Osprey at (406) 543-3300, stopping by the Osprey Team Store at 412 W. Alder, or ordering online at www.missoulaosprey.com.
