Brevard Blue Ducks look toward future home

December 7, 2002 - United States Basketball League (USBL)
Brevard Blue Ducks News Release

Palm Bay, FL - The Brevard Blue Ducks may be on their way toward finding a permanent home in Brevard County.

Recently, the Palm Bay City Council voted unanimously to enter into negotiations with the Blue Ducks' parent company, Brevard County Sports Management Group, for a site location for their arena/convention center project.

"This is a big step for us," commented company President Mike Richman. "The Blue Ducks are our first step in providing quality, affordable sports and family entertainment to Brevard. We are excited about the possibility of bringing this project to fruition in Palm Bay and building a venue there that all of Brevard can be proud of."

The Blue Ducks begin their second season in the United States Basketball League (USBL) in April, playing at the Clemente Center at Florida Tech, while they work on building their permanent home. When completed, the facility will host two other sports teams - minor league hockey and arena football. The convention center will host major trade shows, exhibits and banquets.
