BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, March 13, 2007 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's disciplinary committee today imposed sanctions to two Quebec players as a result of incidents which occurred during last Sunday's game between the Remparts and the Saguenéens in Chicoutimi. Forward Brent Aubin received a two-game suspension as well as a $1,000 fine for making an obscene gesture towards the home-team crowd while winger Ruslan Bashkirov received a one-game suspension and a $500 for a similar incident.
The decisions were rendered after viewing a videotape of the incidents and after consulting all concerned parties. The suspensions are in effect as of today.
In accordance with the QMJHL policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, the disciplinary committee will not be available for further comment.
