Port Huron Fighting Falcons News Release

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons return to home ice for three games at McMorran Arena this week after playing nine of their first ten games on the road.

The Traverse City North Stars come to town Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. game. The North Stars defeated the Fighting Falcons 5-2 in Traverse City in the first matchup between these teams two weeks ago.

Wednesday's game will be the first "Family Night" of the season. All fans will get a free small fountain drink with the purchase of select menu items, and $1.50 off any combo meal. "Family Night" will take place during all Wednesday night home games throughout the 2011-12 season.

The 2010-11 Robertson Cup runner-up Michigan Warriors visit McMorran Arena for the first time this season for a 6:30 p.m. matchup. At 7-2-1, the Warriors currently lead the North division. The Fighting Falcons earned a point in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Warriors in Flint last month.

McMorran Arena's concession stands will feature progressive draft beer specials during Thursday night's game. All draft beer will be just $1 during the first period, $2 during the second period and $3 in the third.

Saturday night the Fighting Falcons will take on the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings at 7 p.m. in their first "Breast Cancer Awareness Night." Any fan wearing a pink hat or shirt can get a walk-up ticket for just $6 in any section of McMorran Arena.

As part of "Breast Cancer Awareness Night," the team plans to unveil the one-of-a-kind Star Wars jersey that they will don in next Saturday's "Star Wars Night" game.

Game-worn Star Wars jerseys will be auctioned off throughout the October 22 game, with all proceeds going to the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital's Pink Ribbon Fund, which helps provide economic relief for mammograms and breast cancer treatment for local women without health insurance.

Port Huron will play their fourth game in five days when they travel to Kalamazoo for a matinee matchup with the Jr. K-Wings at 2 p.m.

The Fighting Falcons split a weekend series in their first trip to Jamestown, New York against the Ironmen last weekend, bringing their record to 5-3-2. Port Huron defeated Jamestown 6-4 on Saturday for their fifth win of the season. Last year, the Fighting Falcons' fifth win didn't come until late February.

Single game tickets are available now at the McMorran Arena Box Office. Tickets in any section are just $7 this season. Student, senior citizen and military tickets are only $6.
