
Braves Walk Off with Fourth Straight Win

The M-Braves and the Tennessee Smokies battled it out Saturday night in front of 3,695 fans at Trustmark Park. Mississippi got a run in the first and the Smokies tied it in the sixth. Neither team would score again until the 10th when Matt Young doubled home Greg Creek for the Braves 30th win of the year.
The M-Braves got on the board in the last of the first after Matt Young reached on an infield single. He stole second and came in to score on Reid Gorecki's double to right-center. After one, the Braves led 1-0.
Tennessee tied the score in the sixth when Ben Broussard blasted his first homer of the year out to right.
The Braves loaded the bases in the ninth, but couldn't get the winning run across. Tennessee loaded the bases in the top of the tenth, but couldn't get the go-ahead run across.
In the bottom of the tenth, Greg Creek drew a walk and Young doubled him home. The M-Braves celebrated their fourth straight win after Young's walk-off hit.
Carlos Sencion gave the M-Braves five strong innings as he allowed no runs and surrendered only two hits through the fifth. Brad Nelson came on and gave up a run through three innings. Nelson Payano

The Braves and Smokies will wrap up this five-game series with a 1:05 tilt Sunday afternoon. Mississippi will send righty Kris Medlen to the hill while Tennessee will counter with RHP Mitch Atkins.
Sunday afternoon is Father's Day and all fathers are welcomed to play catch with their children on the outfield grass at Trustmark Park.
