Danville beat Princeton, 5-4, on August 12 at Hunnicutt Field. The Braves scored two runs in the third, one in the fifth, one in the eighth, and one in the ninth. The Rays scored one run in the fourth, one in the seventh, and two in the eighth. The winning pitcher, for the Braves, is Grayson Jones. Armando Bastardo takes the loss for the Rays.
The Princeton Rays are now 28-21 in the Appalachian League East and tied with Pulaski for first place. The Braves are in third place in the East at 23-25.
In the third inning, Danville put two runs on the board. Ray-Patrick Didder scored from a single by Jose Morel. Morel scored off of a single by Kurt Hoekstra. Princeton scored one run in the fourth from a single by David Rodriguez, bringing Brett Sullivan home. The Braves brought Morel home in the fifth from a single by Carlos Castro. In the seventh, the Rays scored one run with a ground out by Zac Law, Angel Perez made it home. Danville's Hoekstra hit a home run in the eighth. For Princeton in the eighth, Sullivan scored from a double by David Olmedo-Barrera and Olmedo-Barrera made it home from a single by Kewby Meyer. Danville scored the winning run in the ninth as Didder scored off of a single by Austin Riley.
