Worcester Bravehearts News Release
Nashua, NH - The Bravehearts (21-18) went into Nashua and secured a 5-4 victory over the Nashua Silver Knights (12-25) highlighted by a 3-5 performance by Randy Flores (Franklin Pierce), who scored 3 times.
Worcester struck quickly in the first inning for an early lead. Flores singled to lead off the game, stole second and proceeded to take third on a throwing error by Nashua Catcher Nate Gorenson. Sebastian Salado (Palm Beach Atlantic) then singled in Flores to give Worcester a 1-0 lead.
The Silver Knights answered quickly in the bottom of the first after a two-run home run by Connor Hujsak (Virgina Commonwealth) put them on top.
Flores would come around to score again in the third on a Gavin Noriega (Marist) double to tie the game, and then for a third time in the fifth when a two run double by Salado scored him and Dakota Harris (Polk State) to give the Bravehearts a 4-2 lead. A sac-fly by Andrew Selima (Merrimack) scored Salado to increase the lead to 5-2.
Hujsak would later homer for the second time to make the score 5-4, but the Silver Knights could not come back to tie the game. Dennis Coleman (Northeastern) recorded the save for Worcester.
The Bravehearts will travel to Vermont for a weekend series against the Lake Monsters. They return home on Tuesday to take on the Nashua Silver Knights.
