
Bravehearts Move Back to .500

Worcester, MA - The Worcester Bravehearts picked up their second straight win 6-4 over the Brockton Rox on Sunday afternoon at Fitton Field.
The Bravehearts sit at 7-7 after the win while Brockton falls to 9-4.
After Brockton scored a run in the top of the first, Jonathan Santucci (Duke) responded in the bottom of the inning with a leadoff triple, scoring on a sac fly from Gavin Noriega (Marist).
The Rox reclaimed their lead in the third when Brycin Hernandez (Post) scored on a Michael Golankiewicz (Merrimack) single.
Tayven Kelley (Penn State) tied up the game with a solo home run to center field in the fourth inning.
After Brockton retook the lead in the top of the fifth, Kelley came through again, giving the Bravehearts the lead with a two-run double that scored Randy Flores (Franklin Pierce) and Dakota Harris (Polk State). Rico Riley (Jackson State) then walked, and eventually scored on a Santucci RBI single. Kelley scored on an error, giving the Bravehearts four runs and a 6-2 lead that they would not relinquish.
The win went to Worcester's Croix Jenkins (NJIT), who gave up one run on two hits over an inning. Brockton starter Mike Belcher (Rhode Island College) took the loss, giving up five earned runs over four and one-third innings on four hits and five walks while striking out two.
The Bravehearts travel to Brockton to face the Rox again on Tuesday, June 15th for a doubleheader. Game one begins at 3:00 p.m.
