
Bravehearts Fall to Sea Unicorns

Worcester Bravehearts News Release
Norwich, CT - The Worcester Bravehearts fell to the Norwich Sea Unicorns by a score of 4-1. The loss dropped the Bravehearts' record to 16-15. Worcester was not able to take advantage of their scoring opportunities, stranding a runner at third base four times throughout the game.
Both teams scored one run in the first inning. Randy Flores (Franklin Pierce) scored for the Bravehearts after a Sea Unicorns error. Norwich tied things up in the bottom half of the inning with a lead off home run by Kaelen Culpepper (Kansas State). The Sea Unicorns would then take the lead in the third after a pair of doubles from Bryan Loriga and Hunter Yaworski (Mitchell College).
Norwich would add on to their lead in the fourth with a Noah Budzik RBI single. Another run would score on a single by Culpepper.
Bravehearts starting pitcher Alex Amalfi (UMass Boston) went four innings, while allowing four runs. He was relieved by Matt Nunan (Boston College), who went three scoreless innings, striking out five hitters. Barre native Croix Jenkins (New Jersey Institute of Technology) pitched the eighth inning, striking out two.
The Sea Unicorns used seven different pitchers, with Kenny Heon (Mitchell College) picking up the win. Spencer Fox picked up the save.
After an off day on Monday, the Bravehearts travel to Pittsfield, MA to face the Suns, Tuesday, July 6th. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm at Wahconah Park.
