PRESCOTT VALLEY, Arizona (November 19) - A third period powerplay goal by Mark Ehl gave the Brahmas a 3-2 win Saturday night over the Arizona Sundogs.

The Brahmas got out to an early 2-0 lead behind a slapshot from the point by alternate captain Andrew Lackner in the first period and a powerplay goal from Phil Fox in the second period.

But the Sundogs came back with two powerplay goals. The first score came on a weak backhand off the stick of Jeff Hazelwood at the end of the second period, and the other was scored by David Nimmo on a deflection in front of the net at the 4:03 mark of the third period.

The Brahmas waited only five minutes to take the lead back as Mark Ehl scored his third goal of the season, and the second powerplay of the night for Texas, after Arizona defenseman Jason Goulet was sent to the box for tripping.

The Brahmas, who entered Saturday night's contest last in the CHL in powerplay efficiency, had success with the extra man against Sundogs goaltender Levente Szuper. Texas scored two powerplay goals on six opportunities.

Texas netminder Steve Silverthorn was stingy down the stretch, stopping a number of Arizona scoring opportunities in the final two minutes to lock down the victory. Silverthorn made 27 saves on 29 Sundog shots.

The Brahmas head back home after winning two of three games in Arizona, putting them at 7-5 on the season.
