Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (April 11)- All streaks come to an end, and for the Brahmas, their six-game playoff winning streak ended in the first game of the Northern Conference Finals in Colorado against the Eagles 4-1.

The Eagles began to defend their championship title early against the Brahmas as Greg Pankewicz and Scott Polaski were able beat Texas goaltender David Cacciola in the first period.

Colorado dominated the second with two more goals from Kris Wiebe and Polaski, to widen the gap to 4-0. Polaski's goal was his second of the night. The Brahmas were unable to figure goaltender Sebastien Laplante, going 0-4 on the powerplay in the period.

Brahmas' winger Anders Strome put his team on the board late in third with a powerplay goal from Blair Manning and Justin Kinnunen, but his offensive spark came too late as the Eagles took Game One of the Northern Conference Finals.

The Brahmas were outshot in the game 39-30 and now trail in the series 0-1.

Texas and Colorado will face off again for Game Two on Sunday, April 13 at 8:05 PM. The Brahmas will then return home to the NYTEX Sports Centre Wednesday, April 16 at 7:05 PM for Game 3. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.
