Brahmas Sweep CHL Weekly Awards; Cameron And Cacciola Earn Honors

The Central Hockey League announced today that the recipients for the Oakley CHL Player and Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 2nd, 2008 are forward Jordan Cameron and goaltender David Cacciola, both of the Texas Brahmas.
Cameron becomes the second Brahmas' forward to win the weekly award in the last three weeks (Anders Strome won the award on February 18th). This past week, the Drayton Valley, Alberta native notched at least a point in all four wins for Texas. He finished the week with two goals and six assists and for the season has 26 goals and 26 assists in 47 games played. The Brahmas have been the hottest team in the league going 19-5-0 in their last 24 games. Cameron's best game of the week came on the road against the Laredo Bucks where he scored once and helped on two other goals in the Brahmas 4-2 win. The 6-1, 227-pound forward has 14 goals and 14 assists in the months of January and February combined.
Cacciola wins the award for the second time this season (won previously on November 5th). This past week, the Burlington, Massachusetts native posted a 3-0 record and started the week with a 37-save performance versus Youngstown en route to his second shutout of the season. Cacciola stopped 100 of 107 shots in his three appearances (.934). On the season, he is 22-14-1 (22 wins is tied for second in the league). The 6-0, 180-pound goaltender is 9-2-0 in his last 11 decisions.
In recognition of their achievements, both Cameron and Cacciola will receive a special gift from Oakley.
