Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

Fort Worth – The roster for the 2004-2005 Fort Worth Brahmas is already starting to take shape. Today, the Brahmas announced that five players have been signed to contracts and will wear a Brahmas uniform next season when the club opens their eighth season in franchise history in October of 2004.

Defenseman Adam Davis, center Aaron Davis, left wing Chad Woollard, and right wings Joey Bastien and Derrell Upton will all be members of the Brahmas in 2004-2005. All five players will be staying in Fort Worth after playing the 2003-2004 season with the Brahmas.

Adam Davis will be counted on to anchor the Brahmas defense next year. The smooth skating blueliner, who has been with the Brahmas since the 2001-2002 season, played in 53 games this season for Fort Worth, scoring 4 goals and assisting on sixteen others, before a wrist injury ended his season prematurely in late February.

Woollard, Upton, Aaron Davis and Bastien have been the main cogs in the Brahmas offense this season. As of today, Woollard leads the team in goals with 18. Upton, who was originally acquired by Fort Worth in a December trade with the Amarillo Gorillas, is the Brahmas high man in points this year with 46. Upton also leads the Brahmas in assists this season with 32. Aaron Davis is second to Woollard with 17 goals and he is tied with Woollard for second on the Brahmas roster in scoring with 38 points. Bastien, who was also acquired in the December trade with Amarillo, is third on the Brahmas this year with 34 points (15G/19A).

Fort Worth head coach Al Sims, who will also be returning next season as the Brahmas bench boss, believes the five players signed today gives him a winning foundation on his roster.

"All five of these guys—the Davis brothers, Woollard, Bastien, and Upton—are players that I believe can help us win. Woollard, Bastien, Upton and Aaron Davis are all dynamic players that will drive our offense. And Adam Davis is one of top defenseman in the entire Central Hockey League. This group gives us a solid start towards building a winning team here in Fort Worth," Sims said.

For additional information on any of these five players, or to arrange one on one interviews, please contact Jeff Bowerman, the Brahmas Vice President of Communications, at (817) 336-4423.
