Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
North Richland Hills (June 28) - The Texas Brahmas began guarding their blue line Tuesday afternoon with the signing of their first defenseman Eric Main.
The 24-year-old Atitokan, Ontario native brings experience from the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Last season Main played in 47 regular season games and five playoff games for the Stockton Thunder.
Prior to joining the ECHL, Main attended Colgate University for four years beginning in 2002. In 131 games he registered 177 penalty minutes and 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists). Main's strong play his senior year earned him the University's Whit Williams Award for Most Improved Player. In the 2004-05 season, Main helped the Raiders in their berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Head Coach Dan Wildfong is encouraged with the addition of Main to the Brahmas.
"This is an incredible opportunity for him and the Texas Brahmas. He has proven to be an energetic young kid with great work ethic. Eric's defensive style of play will be vital to our organization," said Wildfong.
