NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (August 29)- As the 2008-09 season approaches, the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced their ninth player signing as forward Tyler Skworchinski returns to the lineup for the 2008-09 campaign.

Following an impressive rookie season last year with the Brahmas, Skworchinski will help lead a Brahmas offensive punch for their second season in North Richland Hills. In his first professional year, the Marathon, ONT native posted 47 points (24 G, 23 A) in 55 games.

Skworchinski's exceptional play and trademark speed earned him "All-Rookie" honors from the league and respect from opponents. The Brahmas acquired Skworchinski one month after the season commenced, but the rookie found his place quickly and finished atop of the Brahmas scoring leaders with 24 goals (4th), 47 points (6th), 2 shorthanded goals (2nd), 3 shorthanded assists (1st) and a .155 shooting percentage (2nd).

Prior to joining the Brahmas, the 26-year-old center was at Michigan Tech (NCAA) for four seasons. As a Husky, Skworchinski had 22 points (12 G, 10 A) in 113 games.

Skworchinski's return in a Brahmas uniform was important according to Head Coach Dan Wildfong.

"We are extremely excited to bring Skworchinski back. His speed and talent helps make players around him better. He did great things for us last season, and we expect him to pick up an even larger leadership role this season," said Wildfong.
