
Brahmas Offense Brings The Heat To Ice Bats

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 2)- An explosion of offense at the NYTEX Sports Centre fell in the Brahmas favor as they extended their winning streak to five games with a 6-5 victory over the Austin Ice Bats.
The Ice Bats were able to get on the boards first when Aaron Wilson scored a goal on the powerplay past Brahmas goaltender David Cacciola. Texas followed the goal with three of their own in the first from Tyler Skworchinski, Brent MacSween and Grant Jacobsen putting Texas ahead 3-1 going into the intermission.
The second was completed with more goals, four for Austin and three for Texas. It was Anders Strome's 31st goal of the season that turned out to be the game winner in the second with only one second remaining of play.
Austin's goaltender Doug Groenestege stopped 33-39 Brahmas shots and Cacciola stopped 37-42 to earn his 22nd win of the season and third straight.
