Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
Fort WorthâThe Ft. Worth Brahmas made several roster changes early this afternoon prior to leaving for tonight's 7:05 p.m. game against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Forward David Fry, who has been battling injuries all season long, has been placed on the season ending injured reserve list because of a shoulder injury. Fry, who is in his first year with the Brahmas, played in eleven games this season, scoring 1 goal, assisting on 1 more, and picking up 6 penalty minutes.
To take Fry's spot on the roster, the Brahmas signed rookie forward T.J. Warkus to a contract. Warkus, 6'0", 205, played last season with the Rayside-Balfour SabreCats of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey Association. He posted impressive offensive numbers with the SabreCats, scoring 42 goals and assisting on 57 others for a total of 99 points. He also set a Rayside-Balfour single season records with 17 power play goals and 7 hat tricks. A native of Sudbury, Ontario, Warkus joined the Brahmas in Ft. Worth this morning and will skate in tonight's game.
The Brahmas also received an unexpected addition to their lineup when the CHL hockey operations department reinstated left wing Chad Woollard to Ft. Worth's active roster. Woollard was originally going to serve the final game of a three-game CHL issued suspension tonight, but league office personnel decided to have Woollard serve the final game of his suspension on Tuesday, January 21st at Bossier-Shreveport. The rangy winger, Ft. Worth's leading goal scorer this season with 10, will play tonight for the Brahmas against the Mudbugs.
Following tonight's game against the Mudbugs, the Brahmas will return to Ft. Worth for a home game tomorrow night, Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Ft. Worth Convention Center against the Corpus Christi IceRays. Game time will be 7:05 p.m. Tomorrow night's game will be AC Delco/Chandler's Auto Parts Hat Night, as the first 2,000 fans through the doors at the FWCC will receive a free Brahmas hat courtesy of AC Delco and Chandler's Auto Parts.
