WICHITA FALLS, TX - Adam Goodsir played hero again on Saturday after scoring the shootout winner in the 18th round, giving the Wildcats a 4-3 win.
It couldn't have been any hotter of a start for the Wildcats, as the first shot of the game found it's way past Corbin Kaczperski off of the stick of Michael Rounds. Not quite three minutes later Nick Rosa capitalized with his team short-handed when he slammed home a two-on-one feed from Erich Jaeger.
Fortunately the next Brahmas power play wound up much more successful thanks to Dalton Skelly. The defenseman was able to guide one from the point through a mess of bodies, Justin Kapelmaster included, making it a 2-1 contest roughly halfway through the first.
Wichita Falls would bounce back before the conclusion of the period though when Sean Giles turned the puck over in his own zone, giving an absolute gift to Ryan Burnett. Burnett couldn't help but cash in and make it a 3-1 game. With the 'Cats claiming the third goal of the period it resulted in Dan Wildfong yanking Corbin Kaczperski and going to Conor O'Brien.
The second period panned out much better for the Brahmas as Johan Lundgren scored just 1:25 in off of a dazzling move while walking through the Wildcats defense. Moments later, the Swedish winger set up a wonderful play and went tick-tack-toe with Martin Mellberg, who then set up Tyler Drevitch, for Drevitch's third goal of the weekend.
Scoring was nonexistent in the third and then the three-on-three overtime, forcing the two teams to go to the shootout.
In one of the most entertaining shootouts in all of league history, the two-teams went through 18 shooters each before eventually Adam Goodsir ended it by beating Conor O'Brien, who stopped 15 of 18 in the skills competition.

The team now returns home before heading to Odessa next weekend to take on the Jackalopes. Following that the team takes on the Corpus Christi IceRays back home at NYTEX. Tickets are available by calling 817-336-4ICE, atop your screen under TICKETS, or by coming by the box office.
