Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

The Shreveport Mudbugs (36-9-3-2) fall to the Lone Star Brahmas, 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Nytex Sports Centre.

After a scoreless first period, Ture Linden opened up the scoring by driving home a juicing rebound for his 12th goal of the season at 12:11 of the 2nd. Lone Star would take a 1-0 into the locker room after two periods of play.

The Mudbugs would create some scoring chances on Mitchell Gibson, but he made 15 saves to pick up his 8th shutout as a Brahma. Aidan Spellacy tapped in an empty net tally with 2 seconds left in the game to seal the victory for Lone Star.

Shreveport now hasn't scored a goal against Lone Star in their last 191 plus minutes of play.

The Mudbugs will return home next Friday night for a two-game set against the Topeka Roadrunners at Georges Pond in Hirsch Coliseum. It's Military Appreciation weekend. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:11pm for both Friday and Saturday. ?
